How to Embed an AI Assistant onto Your Webpage

FlyTask’s AI Assistant can be easily embedded on your website to allow visitors to interact with the chatbot. This guide will walk you through the process of creating an embed widget, customising its settings, and adding the AI Assistant to your website.

1. Overview of Embedding FlyTask’s AI Assistant

Embedding FlyTask’s AI Assistant on your website allows your visitors to interact with the chatbot directly, whether for customer support or information retrieval. 

Please Note: Before embedding, ensure you already have an AI Assistant set up and ready to use.


2. How to Create an Embed Widget

To generate the embed code for your AI Assistant, follow these steps:

  1. Go to AI Assistants > Chat Embed Widgets in your FlyTask dashboard.
  2. Make sure you have already set up an AI Assistant before proceeding.
  3. Click on Create embed.

 


3. Customising the Embed Settings

When creating the embed widget, you'll need to configure the following settings:

  1. Choose an AI Assistant: Select the AI Assistant you want to embed from the dropdown menu.
  2. Allowed Chat Method:
    • Chat: The AI Assistant will respond to all questions, regardless of context.
    • Query: The AI Assistant will only respond to questions related to the documents in the AI Assistant.
  3. Restrict Requests from Domains (Optional):
    • Enter domains to restrict the use of the embed to specific websites.
    • Press Enter after typing each domain to add it.
    • Leave this field empty if you want the embed to be available on any site.
  4. Max Chats per Day (Optional):
    • Set a limit on the number of chats the AI Assistant can handle in a 24-hour period.
    • Enter 0 for unlimited chats.
  5. Max Chats per Session (Optional):
    • Limit the number of chats each user can send during a session.
    • Enter 0 for unlimited chats.
  6. After completing the settings, click Create embed.

 


4. Embedding the AI Assistant on Your Website

Once the embed is created, you can add the AI Assistant to your website:

  1. Click on Show Code to reveal the embed code.
  2. Copy the embed code provided.
  3. Open the HTML code of the webpage where you want the AI Assistant to appear.
  4. Paste the embed code into the HTML where you want the AI Assistant to be displayed.
  5. Save and publish your changes, and the AI Assistant will now be available on your website.
